Do I need Insurance to teach online?
Insurance is a must-have if you are teaching full-stop (even just via an online platform). You will need both Public Liability and Professional Indemnity. This covers you for any injury that may occur if and when you are teaching in any premises (including if you hire a space to film for online classes), as well as covering you for any loss or injury incurred by a client (either during an in-person class or via the online platform).
If you are unsure what insurer to go with, we recommend insurance.com.au, Marsh or AON if you're based in Australia. But reach out to them directly prior to signing up to see if they are the right insurer for you.
Also, please note, if you are an international student you will need to find the equivalent of these in the country you reside in.
